Stacy J. Childs, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Dr. Childs received his MD degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in 1972. His surgery and urology residencies were completed at Carraway Methodist Medical Center in 1977, and he has been in private practice since that time. He was a Founding Member of Affiliated Research Center, Inc, in Gurnee, Illinois and served as the Medical Director of Southeastern Research in Birmingham, Alabama from 1980 to 1995. In addition to his private practice Dr. Childs serves as the Medical Director of the Wyoming Research Foundation, Inc. He is the Editor in Chief of Infections in Urology and the former editor of the urology section of Medscape. He is also the consulting editor of Urology.

Dr. Childs remains active in the academic sector as well. He is currently a Clinical Professor of Urology at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center and an Adjunct Professor of Urology in the Clinical Faculty in Family Practice/Urology at the University of Wyoming.

Dr. Childs occasionally reviews medical litigation and serves as an expert witness.

Dr. Childs is certified by the American Board of Urology and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. In addition he holds memberships to over 15 professional organizations and societies. He is a member of the American Urological Association Terminology Committee and a Delegate of the American Medical Association, representing the American Association of Clinical Urologists.

Dr. Childs has authored over 60 articles on various urological topics, including chapters in several prestigious urological textbooks. He has been invited to lecture at many national and international medical seminars and conferences on a variety of urological topics.

In 1997, Dr Childs' dedication to his profession and the field of urology was recognized by his peers. He was the recipient of the "Outstanding Clinical Faculty Award" presented by the Medical Staff of the University of Colorado Hospitals and the "University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, Department of Urology Outstanding Faculty Award" presented by the urology residents.
