1)  Role of Hormone Therapy in the Treatment of Prostate Cancer.  Position:  In favor of use of ADT.  Debate pointed out the advantages and disadvantages of the use of Androgen Deprivation Therapy in a number of treatment paradigms.  Need for refinement in the use of ADT was discussed at length by Dr. Lugg and Dr. Juanita Crook and elucidated places where ADT is useful and where ADT is probably overused.

2)  Cryotherapy vs. Brachytherapy.  Dr. Lugg debated on the merits of cryotherapy in selected patient populations.  A lively debate with Dr. Merrick from West Virginia delineated the advantages and disadvantages of each technology.  Dr. Lugg's assessment of the debate was that it "clearly established the role of cryo in the treatment of intermediate and advanced prostate cancer and it pointed out the future investigations that cryo should pursue in the further development of this promising technology."
